Yet Another Fine Organisation?

The obvious point in this most recent act of the burlesque that is the internecine politics of Irish shooting sports is that a new shooting organisation is being proposed at all; in fact, not any mere organisation – but an umbrella body:

The Shooting Sports Federation of Ireland is a new umbrella body for shooting organisations.

Perhaps the average shooter, because of the issues with communication we mentioned earlier, doesn’t know why this is regarded as amusing by those who have been involved with the administration of our sports for some time now. If so, a rapid background sketch is perhaps in order. This is what the shooting sports administrative landscape looks like at the moment.
